RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a good way of getting information of various kinds from the Internet. See the article, "Fine-Tuning Your Filter for Online Information," for a description of what RSS is and how to use it.

As you can see, you may subscribe to any RSS feed that you're interested in.

Actually, an RSS feed is just an XML file on the Internet. If you know the URL of the file, you can view the file with a browser. IE 7 and FireFox display the XML file as an easy-to-read list. Each item in the list includes the title, the posting date and time, and a brief description. To access the actual article, you simply click the title.
